Staff suggestion schemes

Has anyone here had any experience of Staff Suggestion Schemes, or it's more focused brother, the Ideas Management system?

I'm currently doing a bit of research into this and would appreciate hearing your views. Was the scheme you saw worthwhile? Did it achieve its goals? What were the difficulties? etc.

Cheers folks.

what exactly do you mean by staff suggestion schemes? I seem to have missed something.

<corrected post due to awful spelling and grammer. No idea what happened there!>

By staff suggestion scheme I mean just that. A scheme at work where employees are encouraged to make suggestions to improve the running of the company.

Ah ha!

Bring the staff in to the process, make them feel like they are wanted, encourage their ideas, welcome their thoughts, and appreciate their input. All very good for moral building.

Take it a step further than a suggestion box. Make it fun, have a pizza night where the staff can sit around and offer ideas and suggestions. Ask the other staff for their input, give rewards to anyone who comes up with a terrific idea.

The possibilities are endless.
