Splitting profit up

Is it a common concept in business to have a percentage of your profit going towards different things eg 5% staff bonuses, 2% cash flow back up, 15% marketing etc consitently every month?

This is just an idea that I had and I was just wondering if other people use it?

Yes its quite common. I personally use a lot of my profit to put back in the business in various aspects.
