Sure its called "Social Networking" but honestly, it doesnt bring anyone any closer together then they were before they signed up. Ive been thinking of setting up a forum just for my university to bring people together and then maybe expand to other campuses if things go good. Sections like where the party at, and tutoring for classes are things that come to mind right now. I also feel that university life is super unconnected unless you live on campus which most people at my university dont. What do you all think of this idea?

I had a very similar idea that I thought of starting at my university. I also thought of "what we did in Prof. Guy's class" type of forum in the site. Where students from different sections but same class post/read posts of what that weeks classes consisted of. Good for the students who couldn't show up and want to know what they missed, and good for the slackers wanting to know if the upcoming class is worth attending.
