A city
A good camera
A website/blog with domain name

What kind of business would you create? I'm interested to see other people's ideas because this concept has seriously low start up costs (only expenses are camera, domain and hosting) but such big potential imo...

You know, when I was living out near Vegas I figured I could make some money by selling actual 8X10's of my shots on the strip.

Hell, in Vegas everyone is already trying to sell you everything from water, weed, tickets to shows, etc, etc. I really regret not spending a weekend just hanging out and trying to sell glossy 8X10's in a frame for $10-$15 a pop, especially in the more family friendly areas. I figured at the very least, it'd fund some Casino fun.

If your city is tourism oriented, you can always sell tourist photos of the city they're visiting. You could include a card with a link to your website/blog/whatever too, so they can stay up to date.

Great question to pose.

In my city, there are places that I pass by that I think are interesting on the outside, but I would never step into... a biker joint in the middle of a middle-upper-class suburban area, for example. I've always wondered about that place. If I were just a little bit more curious or photographically inclined, I'd go into places where I don't fit.

Something else interesting might be to focus on the culture in your city that isn't represented very well on the web. Again, I'm thinking of the old school harley riders. The guys around here are never going to get computer savvy. They're going to die first... Sure, younger riders are computer aware, but they're different, too. The old school bike culture is going to die off, only to be replaced by something a little bit more friendly and web 2.0.... so I would kindof see photographing these old dogs and blogging about them as a sort of anthropological exercise. Document the culture before it disappears...

take a photography lesson, the blog can use with your daily experience in your lesson and gather you pictures on your blog..

The Sartorialist started like that...a guy taking pictures of interesting people on the street and posting them to a fashion blog.
...then once you have enough pictures..you make a book, a syndicated column etc etc

I would visit each restaurant in the city, take pictures of the food and blog about it. It would sort of be a "Julie & Julia' idea, but without me having to cook. I could enjoy other peoples cooking, take pictures of it and blog about it. I could even critic the food or give praises when necessary !!

take photos of the architectures from different angles and then make them in to online 3D city or virtual reality, and sell the models to the company like second life, they need these scenarios plus the models are super expensive
