SMS Integration

I was hoping that someone here may have some knowledge on automated SMS or text messages. Its for a 'where is' type of website but currently only locally and for restaurants cafes etc. Its an online database full of all the cities establishments and the users send a text with their location for example:

7 George Street

And the service is meant to send back a reply with 5 restaurants etc nearest that location. This is a project to hopefully enhance my skills for my next venture which is roughly based around the same business model. What would be perfect is if there was an automated system I could run on a continuously running computer integrated within perhaps an email provider or such. Any suggestions are welcome, Thankyou in advance

You do not need only SMS messages but also mobile location service which is more complex to integrate than SMS inteface.
Those kind of services is alive but the development has been several years team of programmers work. There are several legal issues involved by mobile operators because of person location data. Thats why they afraid to open such kind of service because this can be easily misused. Currently to develop such kind of inteface you need to approach mobile operators directly rather than buying it as open service. The technical interface should be not so complex.
The leading SMS integration service provider in UK is iTAGG 2-way bulk & premium SMS, MMS and shortcode gateway provider to send/recieve SMS messages. I do not know are there any similar integrators in US (probably not yet), but hopefully they are soon coming.
