    Smile Smaller businesses set to get more support through partnership

    Starting and owning a business in the United States could be very tough. For a three-month old government-supported private entity, making small company ownership easier is the entire goal. Startup America has declared an additional $400 million in business partnerships.



    All about the Startup America Partnership



    The U.S. government works in a partnership with Startup America which is privately funded. The Startup America Partnership is privately managed and funded. Still, it is a White House initiative technically. Startup America aims to provide discounts and special programs to entrepreneurs to help them start and grow a business. Business information, workshops and classes are all accessible to Startup America members. They also get the prices and discounts on top of this. Small Businesses account for 44 percent or more of U.S. payroll and generate more than 60 percent of new jobs in the U.S.. The partnership is intended to help encourage more of these small businesses to grow and hire.



    Funding with $400 million



    On April 20, Startup America announced more than $400 million in new commitments from big-name businesses. American Express has committed $125 million in preferred pricing for Startup America businesses. There was a Google donation as well. It came in the form of Google Ad credits worth $100 million. In May, "Startup Days" will be hosted by Facebook. There were discounts offered by HP to startup businesses. About $100 million total is being offered. There were many other companies engaged in discounts also. These included Palindrome Advisors, The National Center for Women & Information Technology, LinkedIn, First Data, Ernst and Young and Cisco. Many partnerships with businesses already existed. Involved in this list are The Pearson Foundation, American Association of Community Colleges, Causecast, Intel, FirstData, Google, Intuit, Microsoft, Atisa, Cisco, Mass Challenge, IBM and Artists & Instigators.
