Site Promotion: Why I am Paying $50 To Comment In My Blog

I thought I would give a little explanation as to why I am giving away money lol Think about this if you will. In order for my pixel site to be successful I have to have plenty of quality traffic so advertisers will know that their ad is going to be seen.

Sure I could spend plenty of cash advertising and not get the results I would need to make this site successful. So what I am doing is offering the $50 for comments to a task or questions that I post..the first one I posted tonight was "Post your Funniest Video" .

What this will do is bring plenty of attention and visitors to my site which will attract advertisers, especially when future tasks or questions will involve browsing my pixel site or clicking on the advertisers links to find a hint or an answer. This will give any advertiser alot better chance of having consumers click on their link than other pixel sites.

You do not have to purchase anything to win the money this is strictly a promotional idea financed by my company and is not dependent on any sales or advertising purchased from my website. Its no Joke or No scam simply a new promotional idea.

As much as a dislike pixel-site clones - good luck
I went and found a video, it might not be the funniest thing, but I got the ball rolling for you. It will be good to go back soon to see what others have posted.

Thanks F360 I was wondering why it was so hard to give away money. Then someone emailed me saying why did they have to be a member to comment...so I checked my settings and now anyone can post.

I have no doubt that this is real, but, this type of marketing is not sustainable in the long run, and I would strongly suggest a more long term marketing plan than "buying" readers/commenters.

Having good and relevant content would get you free visitors and people will comment when they feel the need to. To offer money in return to reading and commenting on your blog has no long term benefits to you or your clients, as we all know that they are there to earn a quick buck.

A more sustainable way to get your website out there would be via forum signatures (which you have already done) and commenting on other people's blogs (whichis relevant to yours). Track back is good, however its banned on most blogs now, and link sharing would give you that extra boost in your google page rank. After all, having your keywords come up on the first couple of pages of the google search engine is what will get you ahead of your competitors (since its free advertising)

    just food for thought

This promotion is already budgeted for one year and is very much sustainable even if it is extended. we are not trying to get those that comment in our blog to purchase ads. Basically we are offering this promotion so those that do purchase ads will be almost Guaranteed that consumers will visit their site. Right now I can Guarantee 100% that anyone who advertises will receive visitors to their site only because currently we have no advertisiers. But if we did at this time...even only having been online less than a week I could have sent at least 12 unique visitors to any advertisers site and when this gets going I can send more than that. What I am doing is not much different than PayPer Click and we are trying to come up with a concept that may make this possible.

To qualify for the $50 visitors will have to click on up to 3 advertisers links and post them in their comment. We have also been thinking of another idea where we give each advertiser a small image to put on their website and those that are trying to get the cash will have to visit that advertisers site and post the URL to where they found that image, this not only gets consumers to visit your site but they will also have to browse through it...hows that for quality traffic!. We also have other ideas on how to guarantee that advertisers sites will be visited.

I would also like to point out that although the site is set up to make a little over one mil our main goal is to create worldwide recognition for our company before we expand. Even if my company decides to throw in $100,000 quarterly for promotion our objective will still be met

I have to stress that the site is going to be promoted to the max this isnt your run of the mill pixel site we need to get our main company name in front of the masses for us to go to the next step of our plan of promoting our company.

    I do appreciate your comments.

as long as you are promoting elsewhere , such as google, amongst others, you may find this method a little expensive- how many visitors does it take to be successful? you may receive visitors, but will they be enough? As an owner of a pixel site myself (shameless plug: www.pixaprize.com) with giveaways as an incentive for visitors to visit and view the ads, i've found it difficult. I am receiving the traffic, yet sales have decreased since the mdhp hype deteriorated a couple of months ago. It's gonna be a long hard slog! i'm hoping you have deep pockets!

Well considering we have spent $30,000 on TV ads that didnt produce that great of result this method is alot more inexpensive. I hear what your saying about pixel ads but with our site it is more like Co-op advertising as we are putting your ads to print to be distributed worldwide through our already existing channels. The ads as well as website address will be on poker cards, placemats and coasters that are used in the bars and pubs we work with as well as being given away to anyone that wants them. Pixel Ads in print...it will be effective...so you can click on a link...but if you can make your logo or brand reconizable or use your domain they dont have to be clicked on...your brand or logo will be seen by thousands and for $50 bucks for this much exposure it is worth it.

If you spent 30k on TV and got zero results, you did something majorly wrong.

A problem common to most entrepreneurs is advertising. Yes they advertise, and yes they advertise the RIGHT places -they just do it the WRONG WAY!

A poorly done, or incorrectly done ad in the right spot, is the same as no advertising---only it costs you more.

lol I didnt say we had no results...just in my opinion wasnt worth the 30k as we have gotten better results in major newspapers for less.
