Single biz entity, multiple public presences

I believe this is possible but would be thankful if someone could confirm it or not.

Can a corporation market under multiple names if they are registered?

In my case I'm getting into software development. If I wrote two products for two totally different markets, I wouldn't want them to be marketed on the same website under the same public name. It would be a pain to have to have two seperate business entities requiring multiple tax statements, etc.

Yes it can. Otherwise retailers would need a different company for every product line they sell.

I was wondering if the same thing was true for multiple web businesses. Would you need a separate entity for all of them or can you have just a single entity and the web businesses be subdivisions of that entity?

Tax rules will vary from country to country but I can't see a reason why one company can't have multiple products, websites etc. As long as you declare all the income and pay the appropriate amount of tax you should be fine.

Your best bet is to simply call your local tax office. They are usually quite helpful. They might seem like the enemy but they are always willing to help people be compliant to the rules.

Apart from tax issues, I can't see any other reason why you would need separate companies for different websites except for legal protection purposes.

This is called a network of businesses. Network of websites...and so on and on.

Yeah I think its definitely possible. I think your billing has to be done via the registered business name but marketing can be done in any name.
