Share your thoughts about my new business. How do I start

Im thinking about starting a Gingerbread man francise. That would sell differnt designs in Ginbread men, from flavors to cakes to cookies to other things.

    Can this business be successfull?

Nobody except you can determine whether or not it will be successful.

I think it would be real fun. Do you love to cook or bake? If you love what you do in your business, then that is a great start for you. Now, you have to play on your production, advertising and marketing.

I'll tell you one thing being a creative idea/inventor person. I did always want to come up with a food product but really wanted a true invention. I do know now that a food product is a GREAT product for a creative person to get into because of repeat sales and then how easily the word spreads. Empires were built by small food companies and one product.

If you really like the food product ideas, maybe look for another idea if ginger bread products does not work. Keep in mind though, seasonal products are the hardest to make it in.

The true answer you seek though, will not be found until you give it a shot locally. That is how it works in the food product business. I read a book by David's Cookies years ago. Look up the founder's name and read his book. VERY GOOD. That will give you the best answers on this you could ever have.

The first question that comes to mind is how many times a year are people purchasing Gingerbread cookies? Could you feasibly sell them in the midst of June? Could you sell them to other religions? (I am not sure if eating Gingerbread is religion based) Could you sell them to people in Nevada, Hawaii, and Florida where their is no snow, thus less likely to conjure up images of Gingerbread cookies? Also how many flavors are their for Gingerbread cookies? I assume you mean frosting them different. Now of course their are regular gingerbread/molasses cookies on the market, how would you compete?

I would purchase Gingerbread cookies all year long, but some people do like the whole "holiday" tradition. I think it may be feasible if you market it correctly...and maybe make it where you could order online. Write up a business plan and analyze analyze analyze! Only you can decide.
