    Setting And Achieving Your Goals

Be it in business or in life, itself, having goals is crucial to achieving success and happiness. The reason for this is in order to know where you are heading, you need to establish a target. Anyone who has taken any form of business or personal motivational course or seminar is constantly told and retold this. As important as it is to have goals for oneself, it is EQUALLY vital to know and understand HOW to construct and monitor one’s objectives. Not knowing this, is akin to trying to build a house without wood, nails or tools.

There are two types of goals: Long Term and Short Term. Both are of equal importance. Many times a long term goal is the culmination of various short term goals. Think of a ladder with its many rungs. To reach the top of the ladder requires stepping on each rung. Trying to leap over several or more of these steps, will cause you to fall and injure yourself. It’s the same principle with goals and goal setting.

To establish a goal, one first needs to decide what that goal is and then WRITE IT DOWN! Writing a goal down is so very important. It acts as a personal acknowledgement and contract between yourself and your goal. If you merely keep a goal in your head, it just stays there, and floats around, never solidifying into anything real for you.

The four main components of any goal are:
    1: It must be realistic
    2: It must be measurable
3: It must have a time limit
4: It must truly yield something of value to you.

If a goal is unrealistic for you, you will never achieve it. In fact, you’ll probably give up on it after a few tries. A goal must be measurable in some way. This can be in money, school grades, weight loss (or gain), etc. It must have a definite deadline, otherwise there is no sense of need or urgency. Finally unless the goal you set hold a true reward and value for you, you will never really strive to achieve it.

These are the four cornerstones for goal setting and achieving. Use them and you will discover a whole new world of personal prosperity and happiness.

Depends on how you define realistic goals.

I told my friend i would earn 2000euros/month before my birthday(about 9months), but he told me i was crazy and that would never happen.
I guess some of you might think the same way he did, but that really doesn't stop me from trying to achieve my goal and that shouldn't stop you either.

You need to set up a goal of your own, wich means you need to decide wether it's realistic or not. If you believe you can, then go for it.

Maybe that's just me , but i like to have limited time.
I work really hard under pressure.
If i don't have any pressure, i always delay the tasks i have to do.

(I'll reply again on this thread after about 9 months )

There is a art to setting your goals in others lives, so everyone will support your goals. Your buddy needs to know that his negativity wont help so if he just supports you, when you make it you will get him a ticket to a game, or concert or a bottle of whiskey, or take him out for drinks. your success is worth it. Good luck
