    SEO Marketing

I am very interested in this business and am thinking of starting something up to help pay for college. Can anyone direct me to their SEO/internet marketing site and/or resources that I can read to learn more about it.

I did SEO consulting for about 2 years, it does pay really well and if you can nail a client or two your on your way. Best free resource I ever found was Dan Theis Fast Start Guide Free SEO Book: Read SEO Fast Start by Dan Thies

You can read up @ seochat.com, or other sites you find just by running different types of SEO searches on Google.
There are also quite a few books being published now that go over the basics of SEO. You can find these on Amazon, book stores, etc.

For learning about SEO, you can check out Aaron Wall's site "SEO Book". (sorry, can't post a link yet)

The other part of it is actually creating a portfolio of sites that you've successfully used SEO to get rankings, traffic, sales, etc. (because you'll need to show them some proof that you're the real deal and that you actually have the results to back up your sales pitch). Beyond that is the job of actually identifying and approaching potential clients. If you're planning on targeting small businesses, then there's a lot of competition from people offering the same types of services like website design and SEO, so your potential clients will most likely be used to getting phone calls about it. You'll need a way of standing out from all the noise.

It may be better at first to start off by targeting people you know and businesses that you already frequent as a source of potential clients, so you'll have an easier time pitching them, as opposed to just cold calling on people. Good luck!

Well there are too many SEO related ebooks online. Simply make sure your content and title tag has your most important keywords and then continue to build links from relevant websites to boost your rankings.

    Exactly this.
