    SEO Anyone???

So I have started an SEO company. I have gotten my first 3 clients to number one for their search terms on Google in about 3 months. I have nothing to compare that to. Is 3 months too long? Did I do ok?
    Feedback would be appreciated.

The only thing that matters is are your clients satisfied with your service? Have you done everything you promised to do? Have your clients realized an appreciable increase in traffic and/or sales? Are enough people actually searching for their keyword terms to make them worth targeting? More importantly, would your clients recommend your services to others?

If you can honestly answer yes to all of those questions, then you've done your job, and nothing else really matters.

3 months is too short for many keywords.

What kind of keywords are they?
If you want to be rich, sell products and services.
If you want to be insanely rich, create and control markets.

although I cannot give you the names of my clients I can tell you that the competition for one was 9.5 million results in Google another was 2.2 million and the other is 3.35 million. All what I believe to be highly competitive. My one client went from spending 400.00 per month on adwords to 120.00 without a drop in sales.
My customers are happy so they tell me!!
Can you tell me why 3 months is too short?

If you're dealing with an aged domain then 3 months might not be any problem at all.

Generally you will see slow but sure results over time for competitive keywords through natural linkbuilding.

Have you considered inquiring other SEO firms to see the kinds of things they say to clients?

Underpromise, overdeliver. You might find 3 months is too short of a time for competitive keyword with 9.5 million results.

Who says 3 months is too short? Obviously, it's not if he was able to achieve his objectives in that time period. Besides, as I already stated, as long as his clients are happy and he's not doing anything illegal, nothing else really matters.

were they brand new sites or existing sites? If they were existing sites than 3 months to the first page of google is respectable....if its an existing site, with existing page rank, you should be able to pop them on the first page of google a little quicker....

Yes that's true. However a clients happiness for an SEO company is usually based on how quickly results are achieved. It's always a good idea to consider the competitiveness of the keyword and be realistic with the timeframe so you can avoid complaints.

I think 3 months isn't that bad at all.
