    Selling Merchant Accounts

I was just wondering if anyone has ever tried to sell merchant accounts. For example: I was walking around at my local flea market the other day and seen lots of businesses that had the potential of making big time money, unfortunately, a majority DID NOT accept credit/debit cards.

I was thinking of maybe pitching a line to them in hope's of helping them setup a merchant account, understand what is needed and the likes. So has anyone tried this and if so, what was your success results if any?

That could be a good idea, its just that if you goto any bank, they'll show you and I don't know that flea market booth owners make enough money to hire someone to do it. But you never know, I could be completely wrong on this one. Doesn't sound like any real startup costs are involved, why not just talk to a few of the booths, and see what they say?

Sounds like a good idea. What kind of help would you be doing...? Would you be doing the design, product input and all that as well?

My main focus would be to first ask them a series of questions that'll weed out who could benefit from it and who wouldn't. After that, if they seem to be interested and would do great with one... then I'll simply explain everything (the merchant fee's, equipment, how the process works, etc. etc.)

I'll even assist them in the process of putting in their order and setting up their merchant account, as well as helping them setup and install their equipment. Basically that type of stuff.
