Selling Gift Cards

Hello,
I have seen many stores (Safeway, Walmart for example) that sell gift cards for everything, including movie theaters, restaurants, iTunes, and other stores.

My question is, does anyone know how someone would go about starting one of these "gift card marketplaces" in their own store? Website for more info?

My question is not to simply start a gift card business. I am asking where I might find information about how to start one in an existing business. It is simply an informational question.

Wouldn't waste your time. Margins are extremely small, plus dealing with adwords costs + chargebacks

Again, my question doesn't involve a business that is strictly gift cards. Also, it wouldn't be online (necessarily).

I appreciate your thoughts on the matter of starting an online greeting card business; however, that is not my question. I am interested in getting more information about if there is someone that actually distributes those gift cards or if each store makes individual contracts with other franchises to sell the racks of gift cards in their grocery stores.
