    selling cars

i'm thinking about buying a 2010 camaro, turning it into a show car and then reselling for a couple extra thousand, I know people that can get good deals on rims tint sound and more so this could be a possible way to make good money if i sell a car or two a month
anyone done this or thought about it? lmk

well all the cars i've done for people are 100% original and are not copied from any other make/model. I've done my car and 5 other people's cars and people are beginning to copy all of them. I can do this to basically any car, Camaro's are hot right now and I think I could gain 2-3k at least off one because i get wheels at good prices and my tint guy does it for half the price of anyone else, sound system's i can install myself, I'm looking at buying a camaro first for around 27k in cash, with rims and tint it'll cost about 32, can easily sell for 35 once it is finished, I have everything planned out, rims tint and sound system, are you interested?

To sell cars, you need a license. Obtaining a retail auto sales license is an expensive and cumbersome process. You'd be better off setting up shop as a "tuner" and putting together packages for owners of certain vehicles. If you can get the parts at the right cost, you can resell them at a higher rate, plus make money on the labor.

"Tuners" are kind of a dime a dozen though. And you'd have to do volume to really be competitive. Then you need a location, an ASE certified mechanic, insurance, etc. Some tuners have blown up into very successful sales/tuning/racing organizations (Saleen, Roush, and Steeda for example in the Mustang scene.)

Also, I think it's unlikely you'll be able to upsell someone by $5000 over sticker for a rims/tint package. At least not without a recognizable name to go with it.

modified cars go down in value it is a fact... Also buying and customizing they might not like what you like therefore you most likely wont sell it for more. Your best bet in this industry is to try to work your way into owning a name like M or AMG. For example start a tuner shop and eventually work your way up and try opening up a custom edition for a company who might not contract with every single tuner shop unfortunately what Ford does.

To be honest I would go for lower end cars, they will sell faster, once people start spending that amount of money they start being really weary of what they are buying. Go for 2003 Sunfires, add about $1000 worth of equipment and mods, and resell them for $3000 extra Buy for $4500, do the work and sell for $7500). Teenagers are always buying sunfires.
