like a sellers / business licence..... for instance you need it to buy wholesale.

Depends on where you are. It's not a question of yes or no, it's a question of required by your state, etc. or not.

well going through the process of getting a sellers permit. kinda was just looking to get any helpful info. specifically looking to start my own clothing biz and wanted to attempt to start off more legitimate.. but also the blank suppliers( and for the most part most the suppliers ive seen)have required one....

They MUST BE Tax Exempt for this to happen as you HAVE to Report the Sale at the end of the year at TAX time. They will have a Tax Exempt Number they have to GIVE you for your Records.

This is mis-information. If nowhere else, many US wholesalers and such require this to make sure they are not selling to a consumer.

Many UK suppliers also want a Company Number, etc.

Maybe in Australia you do not need anything, but that is far from the case worldwide.

You need to go to the Board of Equalization website and file to collect sales tax in CA.

You MAY need a local business license, as well. Call your city hall or the local agency that is responsible for business taxes and see what they say.
