Lightbulb seeking suggestions on starting up online selling, thanks!

Hi everybody,

I have been browsing the web to find some real useful suggestions on e-commerce, esp. for beginners and found this forum, which is very instructive. Thanks you all for sharing!

I am now working in China and have access to loads of products with good quality and great price -- some are OEM products of name brands, some local products. I have compared their prices with those in ebay and there's attractive room for profits.

I have considered selling on ebay myself, however, I tend to believe that most US buyers don’t trust Chinese sellers and shipping cost for retailing is too high.

So I am seeking your advice as what would be the best way for me to marketing and wholesale to the ebay resellers or other online sellers?

Thanks a lot!

You can build your reputation as a quality seller, or if there's room in the profit margin you could find an American seller to act as your American "storefront." Just a suggestion.

I am also doing import/export business and i have build relationship with suppliers and also agents back in China. It was tough when i started but it kinder helps when there is a friend/partner in China who would help you get good prices and quality for your customers. I now have a partner in China and we are working on our website which would be done hopefully soon. I agree with Jmeng2 quality comes first then price, thats what customers are looking for. Be unique when it comes to your products and designing your site and also try to find someone in US to partner with when it comes to penetrating the US market.

You can start selling on ebay to test the waters however i would challenge you to think outside the box. Try to come up with a strategy to market to international buyers that may want a cool unique product that they cant get in their home country. Its going to be hard but its worth to give it a try since you can make a very good profit margin when you sell in other markets. Networking is the key of this type of business. The opportunity of this business is unlimited and you being in China is a big advantage.

Thats just my suggestion to you and you can pm me if you would like to brainstorm some ideas maybe work together.

Thanks and goodluck!!

I would like to start my own clothing line however I don't want to reinvent the wheel for certain items such as a tee shirt. How do I get started and where can I buy tee shirts with no name so that I can add my company logo?

Try GoNellie.com - like E Bay without the high listing fees and final value or commission fees.

Talking T-shirts

Hi,

I can help you with the T shirts.

I have high quality T shirts in 8 colors with price ranging from $1-3 per item, depending on the weight of the t shirts (the heavier, the better the quality) and the volume of your purchase.

I can also print the logo for you at low cost, should you have the need.

Let me know your specific requirements and I will be able to help!
