i presently work as a security professional, and wish to expand into my own business. I plan to do this by starting a security consulting firm, which can offer advice in the physical security of areas, and even provide consultation on the installation of items and the monitoring of assets via such items.
My target markets initially will be the home/residential and business sectors, so it would be both B2C and B2B marketing processes. Marketing communications will be a mixture of advertising, personal sales, sales promotions and a degree of direct marketing. PR could be used also.
The strategic plan would be essentially entrepreneurial, since it would be a small business. As long as a business decision was consistent with a general mission, this is what counts really. I have not thought about financing yet, but at the outset I plan for a sole trading or limited liability structure.
