    Rules about charity advertising?

Are there any rules about saying you'll give a percentage of your profit to some charity of sorts? I don't want to do any false advertising.

To be false advertising it must be false. Are you going to be giving a percentage of your sales to a charity? Many businesses who donate say that they are giving a percentage of their sales to charity. That is easier to justify in court then 5%. $10.00 is a percentage of sales, just a very small percentage. I would also watch what charities you donate to or say you donate to. You don't want to make your customers mad by donating to a nonprofit that the customer hates.

The regulations states that all organizations including charities, voluntary organizations and political parties do not make marketing calls to individuals and organizations unless they have their consent to do so. Agencies get more freedom when working with a charity and can create much more emotional work with less restrictions and boundaries which we did not think was fair. However, this issue is coming up more and more and nothing is forever and this stipulation might change." For direct campaigns, the exclusion of charity work rules out a huge number of entries. Also, the idea that charities allow agencies greater creative indulgence in return for pro bono ads fails to hold in this sector.
