Respect But Don't Obey Authority

Hello All:

So many of the start-ups that we invest in don't think far enough outside the box. We have always looked at this as over accepting of authority figures.

We have seen this so much that we did a recent blog post about it:
Wasabi Ventures - Tales of the Entrepreneur » Blog Archive » Respect Authority, But Don’t Obey Authority

I thought it would be of interest to the group.

Personally, I don't think one has anything to do with the other. I know many owners of start-ups who think outside the box. Then again, if you're talking in general terms, you may be right.

I mean in general terms... many people say, "they said this is impossible" and then they stop.

That is what we mean by listening to authority.

I agree exactly with what you're saying. Just because it may 'seem' impossible, doesn't make it so. Respecting what has been done, who has done it, etc is important; however, taking initiative and going your own path is just as, if not more, important in itself.

Good blog post!
