    Rental Business?

I've been researching something that I think a certain niche would be willing to rent. For the purpose of not giving it away and still explaining, let's say a wheelchair. Any idea how to price the rental of something that is needed, but you don't want to buy? The item is something that probably would have to be delivered in a van or trailer.

So if the wheelchair costs $3,000 how would you determine a market rental price? Would you require a delivery fee? Would you require a cleaning fee? I'm not seeing this item offered hardly anywhere, so I can find competitive pricing.

If you think you would only be using the item for 3 months, would you be willing to pay $100 a month? Delivery fee of $50? Would you require a deposit? If it goes longer than 3 months, would you then cut the monthly price?

Just thought I would see what others thought as it's getting difficult to find the information.

    Rental reply

    Hi,

I'm an out of work librarian (Got my master's in Dec. 2008). Your post caught my curiousity. I have zero experience with the rental business but are you looking for rental pricing? I understand you don't want to reveal anythiing but could you be more specific? I'm sure I could find something that would give you an idea of what to price "the item" in question.
