Regarding the business plan

Hello everyone,

So I have been looking up business plans on google and been kind of writing them in pieces just to get the ideas out onto paper. I am going to be starting up a home-based collections business that I am hoping within a few years, can move to its own space and have some employees. For now however, its going to be something I do on nights and weekends while staying at my full time job.

Now I have seen tons of different plans which are all different styles and lengths. What I am wondering however, when making my own, should I be expecting it to come out like the ones online that are 30pgs or more? Seeing that its going to be a small business run from my home to start with just me working I dont really think I could fill in that many pages.

I am being very careful writing this plan as I want to be fully prepared when its time to take it to the bank to apply for financing.

It doesnt have to be 30 pages to be a godo business plan but it should definately have some length to it. A good idea is to contact your local major bank and speak with someone in the business banking department. they have guidelines that are kind of like questionaires they use to help there clients develop 3yr 5yr 10yr etc plans. I got one from TD Bank and it helped me keep on track and answer questions i wouldnt have thoguht of otherwise! You also have the right idea to try and find other bsiness plans preferably ones of a similar industry which you can get ideas from. I would suspecft you would be looking more around 10-15 detailed pages
