I was thinking of running a referral scheme for my business. The top prize would be a weekend spa break or something like that, and then four more prizes as vouchers for a good shop at like £50, £30, £20, £10 (just rough estimates).

The idea would be that every time a paid member of my business refers someone, they would be entered into the draw. They can refer as many people as they want and each time is a separate entry into it.

I would also give people that are on a free trial with my company the option to pay early so that they can participate in the competition. I would run it for maybe 2 weeks to a month.

The cost of running this competition would probably be around £300. Now, I'm trying to work out whether this would be good value for money or not. One free newspaper story got me a lot of sign ups, but then very expensive newspaper adverts did not produce much. I'm hoping that due to the good nature of the competition it might mean that people would be willing to sign up - what do you think?
