Yes, can your question be more specific?

I'm kinda exploring the idea be it online or offline actually.. sorry for being vague.

But i guess starting out whether on or offline isn't the real concern cos most likely getting clients will probably be offline, and getting job seekers will probably be online.

I'm just posting to see if anyone has an idea how this business is ran. And especially how its started. Ok maybe more specifically:
    1) How do you get corporate clients?
    2) Can you just do a cold call to company's HR and ask if they have positions?
    3) Legal issues? maybe contract agreement stuff...drawn by the client or by the recruitment consultancy?
    4) How's the commission frpm clients charged?

dude, just go get a job at a recruitment agency, and you'll find out everything

you know perfectly well that no forum in the world will yield you the sort of inside info that's necessary for these kinds of operations

are you asking things like "Legal issues? maybe contract agreement stuff" just to waste time?

answers to these kinds of questions are very complicated and can't be offered by strangers

Dude! there's nothing wrong with me man!

i'm just really interested to find out how these agencies find their clients and how the commission is charged to the clients or the job seekers.

geez...i started by asking if anyone knows how a recruitment agency could be started... and since i've been asked to be more specific, i then ask those questions!

    Wat's wrong with those questions????

I'm puzzled cos i had the impression that under this "General Business" thread, we could ask General Business questions. And DUH, i'm asking how this recruitment business could be started?

Akula..you ain't having no pms now are ya? kekeke

bro, I want you to be successful. the road to success is one of not asking questions but doing stuff

you seem like a smart guy and there's no need to get into a pointless discussion of how recruitment works

seriously, how would you benefit from an overview on marketing recruitment services or the industry's proffered fee structure?

just go and and do recruitment to see how it really works

discover things, try them out first hand; some equially clueless guy in Australia won't be able to tell you anything

p.s. as you can see, I really hate discussions that lead nowhere

The best advice, is what Akula said, to join a recruitment agency like manpower.

If you want to be a recruitment agency you would have to legally call yourself the employer of the people you find jobs for. Lets say you find a job for Akula in McDonalds, McDonalds would pay you his pay check (slightly raised rate), and you have to pay him his share of the wage (minus commission).

Since you would consider yourself an employer, you are liable for your employees you find jobs for. Don't even get me started on the legal issues and processes of being an employer.

Getting corporate clients is a result of successful marketing. You would probably need to hire a marketing strategist and several marketing reps. Corperations and other businesses have an incentive to have a b2b relationship with you, so its not an impossible task.

    Ouch

Hay I think Akula is right but why do you have to be so MEAN!?

Trying to find someone who will tell you all the answers is silly. Do your homework! It's time consuming but it will pay off

Maybe you can start something small like putting ads in the paper. I also think getting a job at an agency will be a great.

I'm sure there are some books out there that can help you more, check out Amazon.

Good luck and you can do it!!!!

Lol there is always a conversation about Akula being too mean, but right.

to be butterflies, bugs gotta break the cocoon

my function is to be the pain the in ass (the cocoon)

koko0909's function to overcome the obstacles, like having to have an industry track record, and difficult people on internet forums

it's important to challenge prospective founders, or else they will fail in their function

They also thrive on being arrogant and not listening to those people.

The market for recruitment agencies is rather saturated. There's a rediculously huge amount of them all over the internet.
