    Realism or Ease for me/users??

    Hey guys,
Im starting a virtual stockmarket game based on my countries stock index as there is nothing like this anymore in my country. My question is whether i should try and maintain a realtime status of the market price which will be difficult and expensive. or the alternative is just to focus on the clsing amounts of each day. this makes it far simpler for me, and also fairer on my target audience as im aiming for school, uni kids who wont have access to computers all day.
    What do you think?

I don't think anyone here can answer that for you.

You will need to do a cost/benefit analysis and determine what the advantages are associated with each option and the associated cost. As the person starting the business, you should know far more than anyone here what your customers will want.

I have an opinion on that. I always test my market ideas with Investopedia before I invest. Real time is almost impossible to get. But by using only closing prices you will not be able to give people the 'excitement' aspect that keeps them interested.

What country are you from? Look for a feed from a 20-60 min delay on market prices. I know they are very easy to find in the US. Depending on where you are from and what your programming skills are you should be able to find a feed and make it work for your site.
