Real estate industry - how to survive?

How would you judge the profitability of real estate industry?

Is it time dependent, Tactical, or situational?

Time dependent as in - more time you've tied up money in real estate more profits you could gain. As real estate value appreciates day by day.

Tactical as in - Buying or selling the right property at the right time

Situational as in - not sticking to a preplan but being flexible enough to make real estate investment decisions as and when they are needed.

Is it maximizing sales or minimizing costs?

Maximizing sales as in - finding the best buyer, selling to the highest bidder.

Minimizing cost as in - using low cost alternatives for construction, low cost advertisement, save costs on legal matters.

Do all matter for survival or is it some matters a lot and some not much?

Actually, the answer is all of the above. Real Estate can be tricky and simple at the same time. You need to invest in the right properties at the right times, but also minimizing costs and selling at much higher costs especially if you are interest in flipping or development. You need to do a lot of research and throw away many ideas before you get to a single deal.

There is a lot of research to be done in real estate because it is not considered a liquid asset, and therefore you have to worry about not being able to get rid of it as quickly as you might need to. But in terms of profitability, it can be extremely profitable and fun, you just need to research and learn what you are doing and grow into it.
