I've only been to the other side of the continent twice. And in both countries, in Spain and in Israel, every fourth or fifth vehicle is a scooter.

On my college campus parking is nowhere to be found as the campus itself is a city. Commuters have the option of biking, taking the bus, or taking their car followed by a $10 parking fee or a $100 ticket. My idea is to offer commuters monthly scooter rentals at $30 per month (that's $1 per day). Because scooters have unlimited parking rules, you can leave them virtually anywhere on campus. The scooters will be plastered in advertising by a sponsor and that would bring in $60 per month in advertising revenue, taking into account the costs of putting on the advertising. The scooters would also have GPS units showing the advertiser where the scooter was at all times. The college demographic is very valuable to advertisers and the advertising would allow for increased safety to the commuters.

What do you guys think of the general idea?
