    Quoted in article!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. For those of you who read my post about my big sale, I've been working my butt off to get the order finished!

    Anyway...

A while back (2 months or so) I wrote an article about the need for Spanish language training for emergency personnel, and submitted it to a few artcle submission sites.

Today at work I was bored and was looking at Officer.com (one of the most popular police sites on the net) and saw an article about Spanish language and emergency personnel. I clicked on it to read it since it's basically about what my company does.

So I get about half way through the article, and out of nowhere the article starts quoting ME! They wrote a few lines about what I said and about my company. I about fell out of my seat. Then I got to the last paragraph, and the last 4 or 5 sentences are quotes from my article again.

I had no idea whatsoever that I was quoted in this article. It was just a 1 in a million chance that I even saw the article. I got some great free publicity, and I almost didn't even know about it.

Crazy stuff! I guess article submissions do work.

Here's the article. It's still on the front page of Officer.com

Well done man. You'll never be out there if you aren't putting yourself out there.

Have you ever been in local media?

    Newton:

I haven't been in local media yet. I was kind of waiting for some reason. I don't really know what I have been waiting on, but for some reason I have just been putting it off. I fully intend on it, because it's a big issue around here and I think it would get picked up pretty well.

    Bestmiler:

No I'm not Hispanic. I was a police officer for four years (before becoming a firefighter) and ran into several times when I couldn't communicate with Spanish-speaking people. When I started researching for products to alleviate the problem, there weren't any. I saw the open market and I went for it. I taught myself some Spanish, and put my knowledge to work.

Good man, good man. Hopefully a journo will see that for the worthwhile story that it is.

my sister in law is Peruvian, and so I do have trouble speaking in spanish to her, my nephew, and her family

I can't wait to see you hit this one out of the ballpark!

Thanks to everyone for the kind words and encouragement. I've been working on this on and off for close to 4 years now, and it's all starting to finally come together.
