quixtar - opinion on this MLM

anyone joined MLMs or like them? me personalyl I do not like them, but one day my friend brought me to a "business meeting" and it was an MLM seminar and I was tricked.

after seeing this and doing some reasearch it looks promising, and after some other group session meetings I joined, but reading the website there are some things that contradicted to what my mentor teaches me or says, and NOW I am hesitant.

has anyone here joined quixtar? or joined this MLM prior? how was the experiece? did you make some money? was it substantial? was the training process hard? etc

Doing a simple "Google" search about Quixtar will tell you everything you need to know about the company.

The results I found were none too flattering!

I am not with that company, but from my experience the MLM industry works very well.

There are people making money with it, and there are some people losing money with it too.

This is just like other areas in our lifes.. Some succeeded, and some failed.

hmm....I think I will stick with it for a couple months and if I dont see result I might just drop it - but it would be a good experience for sale marketing as it make you more interactive and give you sales traning, corrwect?

Most MLM's have a very pushy and annoying sales technique. Plus they make you pitch to family and friends...not cool.

I tried MLM, I didnt like it. I didnt really like the products they offered, they were very expensive and not all that great.

Another thing is I really dont want to try and recruit people.

Why are people so quick to jump into an MLM? I have friends involved in a similar MLM, USANA Health Sciences. Two years ago I was invited by this friend to attend a business meeting as well, promising to make six figures within a year. Did a lot of research, decided to aviod the "opportunity". Now, two years later, my friends father, who invited me to the meeting, is getting around grand a month, doing basically nothing. Ironic thing is, I've seen his "downline", people underneath him, and 50 of his family members or close friends are the ones spending the money to produce his income. The program requires you to spend around 200$/month. That's 50 x 200$ = 10grand that 50 family members and close friends have essentially wasted on a pipedream that he convinced them of, while taking 10% off the top. MLM is probably one of the most unethical business system out there. Aviod MLM's.

Yet we participate in MLM and networking everyday of our lives.. Ironic isn't it. You try new things cause your friends do. You go to movies your friends say are good and avoid the ones they dislike. We shop at Wal-mart (One of the biggest scams on the planet). Yet MLM is given a bad name because not everyone that joined a particular MLM got rich over night.

You think that the guys that started youtube.com or Myspace.com did not use their friends and family to promote their businesses? Wake up people. We live in a society of promotion and endorsing. Word of mouth is the biggest, most cost effective, most profitable and influential type of advertising their is.. And it will remain that way forever.

I am just sorry that you wagered your potential success on someone else's failure. You might have found that another business team or MLM had a better business plan or offering.

I understand what your point rfouke, but MLM and "network marketing" are an actual business system with the intent to make profit by pushing product (Such as cosmetics or food) or service (advertising, etc.).

Word-of-mouth itself is the basis of all brand goods and services of any industry. MLM can work, and does work for a segment of people. But there are too many cons that people like me don't like, versus the pros. I have experience within MLM's, especially Quixtar, and I come to not like it in the end. I gave it a few months, made some money, but the politics among the organization were ridiculous. That and its not something that I consider to be true sole proprietorship.

There have been lawsuits amongst the higher ups (diamonds and emeralds), and just...ugh I don't care for Quixtar.

For more info on MLM's, try out MLMWatch.com. I used it as a resource for a report on MLM's I made 2 years back.

Whoa! I must say what a horrible analogy you just used, rfouke. Comparing MLM sales strategies to those that seek friends and family for word of mouth support? If you cannot recognize the difference between the two, I apologize.
