    Quick question about logos

If I buy a logo from a designer to represent my company and it happens he stole that logo from someone . . . can that someone sue me?

I think that they are liable to get sued because they are the creator of the logo for you. I would promptly get a replacement logo made from them free of charge before something happens.

If you knowingly use it, you are liable as well, not just the guy who created the logo. Seriously get it replaced.

    You could be yes.

Though the main thing to look at is how bad your business looks with a stolen logo. If I saw a business using the same logo as another, it would tell me firstly that they are probably a very dodgy operator, and secondly have nothing new or good to show, so be careful what you do with a logo

You could be sued both as you're both working on this project so it pays to find a good and reliable designer and stick to his service. That way you'll know you put your trust into good hands. Outsourcing in this sense can be risky although if you have provided the RIGHT choices, there's nothing to be worried of.
