Make sure your image resolution is 300dpi. It sounds like you have it at 72 which will pixelize when printed. If the res is correct then printing .jpeg should be fine. If you are printing from your home printer you can even leave it as a .psd file.
Print inkjet or laser (whatever you have) on cardstock paper. Use the pre-made perforated business card sheets which you can purchase at any office supply store.
I design all of my cards in Photoshop.
The size for business cards is 2 x 3.5. Just place those numbers in when opening your new page in photoshop. Just make sure the res is at 300dpi and you should be fine.
If you're looking to have them professionally designed and printed at some point just pm me at anytime.

    2 x 3.5 inches.
And line up the cards very carefully. When printing from your home printer I would suggest only printing on one side, other wise purchase that perforated tear off sheets for business cards at your local office supply. It will help a little.

towards the middle are templates for different software packages. use what works best for you as they're good outlines.

for printing though, you can use other places because vista print cards are a little cheap (you get what you pay for)
