I am currently working at a seasonal job which will be ending within the next couple weeks. After it ends, I will be eligible for unemployment until I find work elsewhere. I am in the midst of starting my own company which will operate next winter, however I will be working on setting it up throughout this summer doing marketing and advertising. I will not generate any revenue until next winter. Here is my question...

Can I collect unemployment while working on building this company? Can I collect unemployment if I start this company as an LLC and I am listed as president even if it isn't generating revenue and I cannot afford to pay myself? My intention is not to play the system but to ensure that I can get by for this summer.
