    protecting my business idea?

Well, actually it is for a website...so how do I stop potential investors from stealing my idea once I have asked for money and shown them my business plan? Do I use a Non Disclosure Agreement? Or is there some other way?

I was beaten to market by another company last week.

Trust me, it's not the idea, it's the execution. If you aren't ready to launch right away, don't talk to investors. You have entered the point where you make your idea public. If someone tries to steal it you need to be farther along than they are so they can never catch up. there is no other way to address it.

If you are dealing with regular, average joe investors, then you should have an NDA.
If you are dealing with VC's, don't request they sign an NDA or you will be throwing any potential investment out the window.
