This topic was brought up a couple of weeks ago, and really, no one answered the question.
Since I am in the same type of dilemma, does anyone know the best way to protect your website (IP) from anyone that wants to copy it? I'm referring to processes, functionality, all IP that a website/ software would contain.
I've heard of a utility patent, but before I spend the big bucks on that type of thing, I would like to know if this is the right direction to take.
If needed, refer to the patent on amazons 1-click checkout. Even though I know of the patent that amazon has, they are focused on that one process. To make it simple, do I just need to talk to a lawyer?
In any case, that's probably going to be everyone's answer. I can file for the patent myself, but are lawyer consultations FREE?
