Promotional Merchandise Brokerage

hey guys a mate of mine has been constantly pondering of this idea, to start a local promotional merchandising brokerage that target small - medium business in our area, from the grocery shops to local pubs and rsl any ideas guys...anyone know of a good place to find a wholesaler/dropshiper to source merchandise such as pens/ rulers magnets , caps etc..thanks for the replies. Once again this is a business idea, still on the shelf so any specifics, legal matters etc can be expressed on the matter....

thanks for replies guys...one more thing what equipment do i need to transfer images/ logos on to pens, shirts t-shirts etc.? Where can i find these hidden mysteries lol....

I think I could offer you a business proposal you couldn't refuse. I could teach you everything you needed to know, and start you up. I've been working in the industry for years on both sides of the field. If you actually want to produce promotional items. That's a whole other ballpark, and you would need to drop some serious money for the equipment. Just last year I purchased a warehouse and screenprinting equipment, and spent around 100k.
