    Profitable Import Idea's (China)

    Im wondering, who out there has some solid ideas about profitable China Import products.

    I have an opportunity to to shadow a local importer to a Comodities Fair in China, learn the ropes, and meet some people.

    Im looking to capitalize on this advice from a local successfull entrepreneur.

    I would like hear some others idea's of innovative products, or other profitable products others out there who have had a good experience importing.

    Store front funding is available...
    Budget range 0--$20k.

    Anybody?

    The current business is in sign products, and sign equipment.
    Im interested in tryingretail / consumer products, not manufactoring goods.

    The bad news is...that makes for the Largest amount of competition...

    If anyone wants to come to the trade fairs with me in April let me know. I lead groups of entrepreneurs to visit the fairs every year.

    Most products from China are price competitive, however, the profits differs due to price difference, export charges (some products need to get documents from authorities/government, and so on), import charges (transportation charges by sea or air, import tax, and so on). Many factors make the profits different.

    I am working in a US based company and sourcing garments from China, my sourcing price is generally under USD10.00, and the whole sale price is under USD30.00 in USA. However, i surfed on ebay.com and found the retail price is really high, see this product from EBAY:
    The North Face NorthFace Denali Jacket Mens Black sz M - eBay (item 190274709101 end time Dec-19-08 20:55:47 PST)

    My sourcing price is about USD9.50, on ebay the price is USD99.88--BIG BIG PROFIT!
