    Product Liquidation

It's been alittle while since I've posted here, but my shoe company is developing a new (To us) business model which involves liquidating our current shoe inventory to make room for the new styles.

My question is, does anyone have any solid experience or ideas on where to liquidate/sell the shoes in bulk? I currently have about 600 pairs of shoes that I would like to liquidate off. I'm willing to break up the batch into smaller batches and I'm willing to work with fellow YE entrepreneurs if there's any interest.

But any ideas or inquery, a post or pm is much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Tom

Tom, if this is something you will be doing on a regular basis, it might be worth contacting some of the business liquidators. These companies usually focus on bankruptcies and location closings, but they may very well be interested in a situation like yours, especially if it is ongoing.

Anyway, can you PM me with more info about the shoes? What kinds, styles, what kind of price you're looking for? Perhaps I could help you out.

(One more idea: something like this may sell well on eBay.)

Are you liquidating shoes only or flip flops/apparel also? I might be interested if you could shoot me a pm with some more details also.

    Thanks and best of luck

Liquidation companies are definitely something we have thought over, do you have any in particular you may have worked with?

I'm liquidating currently one style shoe and a couple styles of t-shirts. But I'll PM both of you with prices.

A few years back, my Videoezy store went from videos & DVDs to DVDs only. They moved into new premises which was 1/6 the size of the old one.

Recently, I asked them whatever happened to the thousands VHS videos, and they said it took them a whole year to sell all the videos on Ebay.

So Ebay is a good place to dump stock. Maybe even sell them on Ebay as bulk lots. And you can also offer them to retailers who don't stock that particular brand.

    Good luck.
    Let's make some money.

I don't think I have any retailers that are big enough to work with this, but ebay is sounding like it is worth a try
    Thanks
