Hi,
I have a new product that I have developed that will be sold online and through retail stores. Currently 10,000 units are being made. My previous plan was to bring all 10,000 into Australia and test the market here but with the economical climate the way it is at the moment it’s better for me to send them overseas. But I don’t want to ship all 10,000 to one location.
My idea is to basically become a drop shipper of the product in smaller quantities direct to retailers. And for online shops I will directly post the single item from the factory in china to the USA.
Basically I’m after ideas on the cost of shipping/posting small quantities.
The product will be sold to retailers for around $40 and they will then sell it for a recommended retail price of $79.
If I ship all 10,000 in a container it is going to cost less then a $1 to send each unit to the country and then obviously I will have then have the cost of dispatching the product on the ground. So this is a lot cheaper then what drop shipping will be.
My question is there enough margins in this product for me to be sending to retailers in small quantities. I will also have my own website selling the product so the item will be dispatched from China to anywhere in the world
Does anyone have any examples of pricing if they were shipped in quantities of 1, 10, 20, 50, 100? From China to the USA
The sizes of the product’s dimensions are as follows. 20cm X 22cm X 5cm weight is 800grams.
Do online shops actually store stock or is it mostly expected to be posted from the distributor’s warehouse.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
