    process of selling to stores

Hi, I have a new product and I want to sell it to a few specialty stores that have shown an interest in my product.

I have my prototype (model) made and will show it to the manager in a few days. My questions are:

    1. Should I dress up or will casual meeting be ok?
    2. If they do decide to carry my product, how will the process go? They pay me money for a first batch or do I have to give them the products first and they pay me as it sell... How does it usually work?

    Thanks

Bring the prototype, you probably know that.
1- of course you where a suit. Try to act professional. But it also depends what industry you are in, if this is a fitness environment then you dress somewhat sporty. Usually you want to dress in a way that makes you appear a professional in the industry you are selling to.

2- Try to make money from the beatch you send. But if they are unwilling to risk money on the idea, then you can recommend to either rent shelf space and place your items on the shelf, or simply supply them a bunch and see how they sell and make a %. Once they see a demand they will be paying for them before you deliver.

    Good luck
