    Predicting website users

    Greetings YE's,

I have come across an issue that I am hoping someone can give me some insight on.

I am working on my second start-up which will be going to VC's for close to $1 million in financing in it's seed round. I need to formulate some type of projection for the following on the website

-Uniques/month for the first 12 months
-New user signups/month for the first 12 months

Does anyone know of any type of formula, group, tool, and/or otherwise that might be able to assist me? the issue I see is it depends on the success of the marketing campaigns, which may be somewhat easy to predict for traditional web marketing(banners, press releases, etc) but very difficult to predict the virility of social media which this site incorporates very very heavily. Other factors would include the sites usability, SEO rankings, industry, product/service, pricing model, etc. This has turned out to be the biggest obstacle yet!(one I plan to tackle

The site and venture are very solid, and I know the VC's are going to see that, and I do have some financials projected, but without some sort of solid user projections the VC's could be scared off regardless the profits.

Any positive response, insight, or critical thought is appreciated and encouraged. Thanks in advance.

    Chris

Also, if we have any experienced investors browsing feel free to share your thoughts, and anyone who does not wish to make their thoughts public is welcome to private message or email me chris(at)vaiz.org

FYI, no I will not give specific details on the project itself unless you are an investor, and proof plus NDA's will be required.

Unfortunately you've stumbled upon one of the most difficult areas of web marketing. It's practically impossible without know more about the routes of traffic-drive to the site, it's content, the quality of the business et cetera
