    Potential Business

    Hi,

I've recently thought about setting up a advertisement and promotion website where companies and individuals worldwide can promote or advertise their services/products/websites on my site ( not much unlike affiliate marketing.

It's basically a rent a space service to promote your company, my questions to you all is do you believe there is a market for this kind of business model and do you feel people would need this or this is a general need in the online world today?

    Thanks.

There is sites like this. One thing to remember here is that advertisements are no good if no one sees them... Why would consumers or potential leads for these companies be viewing your site? I dont really see a business model.

well thats the big criteria for me - why would they visit my site?. Initially I wanted the site just to be a place for companiess/individuals to advertise products & services on our site and social network accounts for a fee, but as you said that isn't really a business model.

Basically I'm struggling with what to create, I have all these ideas but find it impossible to settle on one idea - I seem to be trying to find a solution to a problem of which I havn't identified yet which is mad. I'm going around in circle - a profitable business model is what I'm looking for (arn't we all) but I can't seem to focus on one worthwhile idea.

Maybe you need to take a step back, and rather then going through them all over and over and coming up with more new ideas(I have done this lots!) just relax and let the ideas sort themselves out. Give your brain soem time to process everything, and wait for fresh thoughts to come in. Soon enough you will be focused, and you can revisit each idea. Then see what you come up with. I have found myself trying to "force" ideas to be good ideas as opposed to letting the idea show its true colors to me. Hopefully that makes sense.

That makes complete sense to me and is good advice, I've been jumping from idea to idea and like you said I have also been forcing ideas I've thought of to be good ideas. I'm going to take a couple days away from my projects and let my mind clear out a little. I seem to be trying to force my ideas to be the money making idea that will allow me to leave my dull job and work for myself, I want it so bad that I'm stressing myself out and potentially crushing my creative flow.
