I dont get the question. Interactive play as in how all poker sites, i.e. pokerstars, full tilt poker, bodog, ultimate bet, etc work?
That kind of interactive? If so the money's made on the rake. If you're even thinking about opening a poker site dont, unless it's a skin. It would probably be easier for you to create a site with poker content and become an affiliate for the sites. They advertise on your site, you generate the traffic, they sign up through links provided on your site and you get a cut of the rake they generate.
For anything poker related google 2+2 forums.

Your idea is bad overall. There are tens of thousands of affiliate sites already, you will be entering a saturated market at a disadvantage.
There are also hundreds of companies that have skins. It requires a significant capital investment to start even a skin of an existing room. Moreover, you have significant legal hurdles to deal with in the United States.
There are opportunities available in this realm, the market is currently in a transformation, you just have to differentiate yourself.
We dont know much about geography on the left coast, but from OPs location it looks like Canada. Had it been the US with the UIEGA, I'd agree. Set up a site with nothing but banner ads and you'll make zero.
Hell you could start a site that was nothing more than a poker podcast directory and get traffic.

That's a tough niche to crack. However, check these guys out: freebets.co.uk
I did a study of them for a friend of mine. Here's what's cool: check out their page structure. Sure they're hitting an insane 2 word keyword, but they're #1 with a bullet with less than 1000 1 way links.
Why? Their internal linking allows them to pretty much be THE AUTHORITY on the subject.
My friend was trying to take the top 10 and was only at the bottom of the 2nd page. However... he had over 3000 1 way links.
His problem was he had no internal linking and all the links went right to affiliate programs.
Check out that site, copy what they do, and use a domain name in some other country. That's the key. Remember, Google brings back results not just based on your keyword, but also based on location.
i agree with jasauders this market is very very saturated.
no with the economic recession, it doesn't seem wise to get into this saturated business,
you might try to go at it in a different way , maybe play poker yourself![]()
countries such as US, Singapore do not legalize online gambling... please check with your authority.
