Do you have any talents or special skills? If not, is there anything that you are particularly passionate about? That usually helps people figure out what kind of business they want to start.
I used to make pretty good money doing door to door and wholesale. Pm me if you would like any help with getting started in that.
where are you located?

Ebay is an easy way to get started, I've been doing it since I can remember..., maybe age 13.
Just get a good eye for old or new stuff that sells good and browse thrift/pawn shops, online stores or clearance sales...
I made a ton from doing this... (spent $30 on a satellite phone + sold for $700+, mp3 thing for $25 sold for $115, and at least 100 other similar examples).
The hunt is always fun.. But not very reliable at some points.
well this forums is the place to be for your questions! Just like to say welcome and you will find alot of wisdom here.
I believe there are quite a few import/export companies that don't require any upfront fees. I know all of the wholesalers that I personally deal with don't charge anything to begin. Some are even nice enough to dropship your products to your customers if you decide to sell on ebay or through your own website.

Business2Business sales can be very rewarding, and promotional advertising can make it quite enjoyable as well as profitable. I started my home-based business selling promos back in '84. I love this industry and have built up a great base of repeat clients, many of whom have been buying their promos from me for 12 to 22 years.
No major capital is required, as the orders are processed on the buyers ability to pay.
No inventory, as the imprinted products are shipped direct to the buyes' locations.
No territory restrictions, except limited to US borders.
Feel free to visit my web site for more details.

Well, the ones I have dealt with all are fine home decor sites or decor materials related. If this is what you're looking for, I can definitely help! If not, I haven't dealt with others NOT in that industry, so I can't really recommend others that aren't in that industry, since some say that actually don't have fees, but then they really do once you sign up.
Try to go with someone that someone else has used, this will save you lots of time and troubles.
If you need more info on the decor stuff, PM me for info.
