    Question Please Help Me Out

I am really trying hard to figure out different ways to generate substancial income on my site SuccessfulYoungInvestor.com other than using google ads...

I would really appreciate it if everyone could help me come up with some new revenue makers that fit in well with the site?!? I have done tons of research on the internet and read all the articles, but I would feel a lot better hearing it from other entrepreneurs for this specific case.

    Thank You Very Much!

    Here's Some Ideas

Sell Some SELECT Banner Ads-Either Yourself or through services such as Adbrite.com

Sell Investing and Business Books and Publications on your site.

Start An Investment Club/ Limited Partnership like Warren Buffett. (Read the book- Buffettology). Let me know if you are interested in this idea, because I'm considering going that direction through my site. (PM me)

There may be others on this forum who would also like to participate. We would need a 1/2 dozen Board Of Directors.

Hey I checked various sites on your PR Ranking. You got a PR4.

That's pretty good. You can start selling text link ads to people who want to have a link on your site pointing back to theirs. Basically, your renting out space on your site that will have a bunch of links. You can charge a monthly fee for it. Maybe $5 a month.

You can check out http://www.text-link-ads.com/ or find a forum marketplace.

Or you can promote a product that relates to your niche. Like a book that you liked about investing. Sign up as an affiliate for the book, Amazon.com, and post it on your sidebar at the top so it is visible to your visitors at all times. Every time they purchase the book through your link you get a commission.

This is not really the kind of advice you are asking for, but along the lines of an investing club, if there was a trading website that catered to investing clubs, it may catch on. I mean a scottrade or etrade, but with features that would make it ideal for investing clubs to use.

You could have a gmail style system in the background, with instant messaging, video conferencing, chat rooms, links to research and an outlook style calendar to send out reminders an assignments to people in the club.

This way, you can have an investing club made up of people who are in different places. I want to start one, but because half my friends are New Orleans or Austin, it's too difficult right now.

    Doodyps,

It's not that difficult, even the old fashioned way. With video conferencing, e-mails, etc. it doesn't matter where the members are located. It's a process that involves a simple Limited Partnership to be developed, OPM, and a plan.

For example and investment group (club) could be set up right here on YE and each member invests, let's say min. $1000 each. The papers could be drawn up and the limit is only based on how many folks you wanted involved and appropriate SEC rules.

Members would discuss their preferred investments, why, etc. and then the group would vote on what stocks to invest in.............based on sound business principles.

Basically this is how Warren Buffett started Berkshire Hathaway, in the beginning, with $105K and his people trusted his investing instincts and of course the rest is history.

You are right. I really want to start one with some specific people though that would not be able to focus and have the discipline to meet and talk from such distances. You may ask why then why I would want to invest with them, but between all of us there are some great connections and very diverse education and experience. Some are in finance, hedge funds, accounting, law, and have dads who are major players in private equity firms ect. There is a lot of great info between all of us, and if we were able to sit down and put a plan in place, we could do very well. Right now though, with everyone starting new jobs and graduating and figuring their lives out, it has just been to difficult to get everyone on the same page.

But, with regards to my website idea, I know it can be done wihtout it, but I feel like there is a market there. An etrade with special features specifically catering to investing groups doesnt exist yet. If it did, groups would probably flock to it as long as the trades were still cheap. that was more of a business proposition than an excuse for not having a club. An idea that maybe I should keep to myself to pursue, but I have too many others to ever get around to it, and no experience designing websites.

    Thank you for everybody's input!

Regarding horsenaround and doodyps: Really the site is meant to be a large "investment club" where our members can start their own investment groups within it. We are trying to provide all of the appropriate tools and the proper envirnment to foster young investors to come together in a renaissance of new ideas. All we are lacking is the actual paperwork that is involved with an investment club.

    SYI,
It is simple to set these up. Paperwork not that difficult. We can discuss via PM if you would like to find out more about the paperwork aspect. Perhaps we can work together. That's what I have planned to do with my site also. www.StockScavenger.com - Home

As Doodyps referenced, it is all about trust. The negative feeling, most people have, is that they are skeptical of joining and investing in such clubs without knowing who they are dealing with...especially online!

It seems there are several people on this forum that would be trustworthy possible members.

If there are others here who would like to expand on the idea and be part of an investment group, as mentioned in the earlier posts, let me know.

I had seen a great video awhile ago on how one successful blogger makes six figures a year using different monetization methods. I think it is definitely worth a look.

The video is by Yaro Starak, author of Entrepreneurs-Journey.com. He may try to sell you on his coaching program near the bottom of the page, but the video itself is very informative. Here is the link.

Pr4 is pretty decent, you could sell text links to other websites and make atleast $20/mo per link (Do a dozen and you'd be doing pretty well) be careful, google doesn't like text links too much.

Paid website reviews MIGHT be a better way than text links, and with a pr4 you should be able to get atleast $100/review done.

Banner sales would be better than adsense really, in addition , your adsense placement is poor from what I can tell , there are ways to optimize.

If you have a email list , you can offer to rent it out/sell it as I'm sure there's product promoters out there.

You yourself could use the email list to promote some products that sell for a high Commission. If you'd like, I can hook you up with a discover CC offer that will pay around $30 per signup if you're interested.
My goal is to have a $1,000,000,000 net worth within 20 years starting November 08. Follow my progress 20yearbillionaire.com

Here's a description from Google. Corporate Information - Technology Overview
PageRank Technology: PageRank reflects our view of the importance of web pages by considering more than 500 million variables and 2 billion terms. Pages that we believe are important pages receive a higher PageRank and are more likely to appear at the top of the search results.

PageRank also considers the importance of each page that casts a vote, as votes from some pages are considered to have greater value, thus giving the linked page greater value. We have always taken a pragmatic approach to help improve search quality and create useful products, and our technology uses the collective intelligence of the web to determine a page's importance.
The PageRank value is 0 - 10. Yours is a 4. What this means is that Google sees your page as having valuable content. Others dispute the fact that PR doesn't matter, but linking to a high PR site helps to boost the search engine rankings and improves the PR of the site linking to yours.

So offering to sell text links on your site not only increases back links for the other person, but it also offers them a chance to get a high quality back links that will help them increase their chances of getting ranked highly in Google.

    Ranking - Webmasters/Site owners Help
In general, webmasters can improve the rank of their sites by increasing the number of high-quality sites that link to their pages. For more information about improving your site's visibility in the Google search results, we recommend reviewing our webmaster guidelines. They outline core concepts for maintaining a Google-friendly website.
Sorry if I'm being repetitive, but the main point to linking to a high PR is to get your site on the top ten pages of the Google search results for your targeted keywords.

successfulyounginvestor.com implies that you're a successful young investor but while glancing over the homepage I didn't see anything but opinions on current news else I would've suggested writing an ebook on how to become a "successful young investor." Was very disappointed that you're personal blog doesn't have much about your personal journey as an "investor." Quite pretentious. With relevant information, it should be easier to make more cash.
