Please check out my new website

Hey everyone. I've worked incredibly hard the last few months to create a new just launched social media website Liftvibe.com.The site is designed to give people inspiration and motivation on a daily basis. As a user you can create a personal content library with your favorite inspiring videos, articles, and pictures that will help you keep making progress in your life. You can share your content with otherpeople on LiftVibe and share your favorite quotes, advice, etc. Until next Friday we are having a photography contest with the winner getting a $10 gift certificate to Best Buy. Anyways please take a look and I'd love to hear feedback or any questions you have for me. And if you like the site please help me and spread the word! Thanks guys.

I do like the site. The layout is very good for a young site and very explanatory.

Suggestion for your contest. $10 gift card to best buy is not a lot. So, at the very least send an e-mail out to everyone that submitted telling them they are a runner up, you appreciate their entry, you hope they try again, etc.... It's a good vibe site so let them know you appreciate their entries.

A one up would be to send them an email with a best buy coupon (or something similar, free advertising for the company, a free gift for you to give). It might be hard to convince best buy to do this, I'm not sure, but their coupons are already readily availble if looked for and it would be great encouragement to resubmit and tell their friends to do the same. The more people that feel like they win, the more will want to try again for a bigger prize.

Just my opinion, otherwise great job and very impressive!

Thanks for your advice! This is the first real entrepreneurial venture for my business partner and I so we are learning along the way. We are going to have to send press releases, business cards, etc out to people and build a grassroots word of mouth movement at the same time. Being an entrepreneur can be incredibly difficult and stressful but I wouldn't want to do anything else!

No problem! It can be extremely difficult but also very worth it! I looked at yoru site again and had one more suggestion. Write up an e-mail template that sounds very personal but is still easily adapatable. In the message explain your site and ask them to visit and join and spread the word if they like it.

I feel like church groups are a part of your target market and already grouped for you. When you have some free time google church group, youth group, etc. and then a large city. for example: church group austin texas. Find some email addresses that way, personalize the message to them (with the template it should take only a couple minutes) and send them the message. I think it would be relatively easy, free, and effective advertising. I'm not sure you're overall marketing strategy but this would be something that requires no cash and can be done when youre sick of working on other aspects of the project! Just an idea

The email template idea is a great idea and Ill discuss with my business partner tonight. We realize religious people would like our site but we really arent trying to make the site religious as that can cause controversy. Our main target group are women ages 25-50 more or less the oprah crowd although anyboyd can get something useful from the site. JKansas, what type of business are you involved in?

That's good you've chosen a target market. I understand the religious controversy possible! The idea is the same, use google, find groups of yoru target market, and shoot an email to the directors/leaders/etc. Have you also considered the weight loss/biggest loser/Jillian Michaels crowd? I think they would also be interested and not necesarily prone to drama. Again, just throwing out ideas.

We are in the Durable Medical Equipment business. It is more small business than entrepreneurial but I'm just getting started

For sure we would love to have people trying to lose weight and help encourage each other etc. so the Jillian Michaels crowd would be perfect. We hope we can build a strong base of people that help each other out. Its tough to build a good base of people but I will just keep pushing and hopefully we will attract people that realize the site can really add something to their life.

To me your idea is Chicken Soup for the Soul meets Textsfromlastnight.com

Check out your competitors/compliments and see what they're doing, how you can make it better, etc.

Also, Don't be afraid to use facebook and make sure you are as integrated as you can be into it. Your oprah crowd is finally disovering facebook.... that's right our mom's are on facebook! Instead of dreading it use it to your advantage! And it's definitely tough to build a good base, especially on the internet. There are so many other's out there and you really have to spread your name as often as you can. Brainstorm, bounce ideas, and just ask and use those ideas to build your base 1, 5, 25 at a time. It's also very respectable that you're combining profit with positive values. In a world with cheating CEO's and ponzi schemes every week villainizing businessmen, great values help you to stand out!

You have a great idea here and the site looks great!

When it comes to contests, find some online merchants and offer trade. So, you will trade them some advertising space for a gift certificate, product, etc. This is a great way to get some really great contests prizes and show your users how much you appreciate them.

Also, in terms of finding people to join... Facebook is a great tool. Just search for groups within Facebook and post a short message on the groups wall. You may have to be a member of the group to post so just join the group and post away. Be sure to leave it short and sweet and don't spam the group page, just write as if the sites not yours " Add me to your profile on liftvibe.com, awesome site for making you feel great no matter what the situation!".

Also, there is a great site called Twitterfall, add your twitter account and then do a search for something that someone that may need to join your group would say like "having a bad day", "what a day", etc. Once you see these tweets from people, just tweet something to them about your site "If you're having such a bad day, you should join liftvibe.com".

    Hope this helps!

    Good luck with everything!
