Pet Boarding/Daycare Business Question

I am thinking about opening a pet boarding/daycare business for dogs and maybe cats.
Something similar to PetSmarts PetHotel http://petshotel.petsmart.com/
Anyway does anyone here know if I will need a license to run something like this or where I can find out? What kind of license?
Will I need a vet on staff?
I just thought of this idea and those are the questions I have thus far.

I dont know about the licensing, but my idea would be to at least get a certified vet to back you. They may have no monetary partnership, or rights in the business, but if Im bringing my dog somewhere, I want some kind of assurance that she will be ok. Having a vet in some kind of partnership, will instill some level of trust with the clients....

Just my thought.

You need to have a vet on call at the very least.

It depends on where you are to what licenses, etc you would need.

I'm in Australia and I know here that with certain councils you need different permits, etc. for such things.

I was looking into a similar thing also a few years ago =)
