I use quicken for my personal and my accountant uses quickbooks for my businesses.

You don't mention your understanding of the various aspects of personal finance record keeping.
You may want to go to the library and get a book on the subject.
It's easy to use forms you can buy at staples and do the record keeping using a pen / pencil...ever thought of that?

I use microsoft money. It comes with the microsoft works software package. A million times better than quicken. It works great,it even pops up remniders when my bills are due. It works awesome!
