I was reading on some articles about fraud and paypal IPN theft, is this true does this happen alot? do people actually lose sales because of this? Have you?

I was wondering what and how does this happen, and is there software out there to help protect your digital downloads? for example should I host files on my site or use pay a seperate file host to host my files?
