Becoming an Affiliate is defintly a great source of passive income.
Like most types of passive income, you need to put a bit of effort in first.

    Freedom Money

I am using an automatic trading system, which has evolved from a trading signal service through people that I have known for about three years. The automatic trading system is fairly new, although the signal service has been going for a couple of years. The robot officially traded live, about the middle of 2008. I have been using it in 2009 and it has made 42.24% profit in 6 months (LotsCalcFactor 3500). The back test for 2008 saw it return over 100% in 12 months.

The AutoSkimmer robot is designed to make a profit whether the market goes up or down. What I like about it is that the profits have been steady, so I can take out an income every month and be free from having to be a slave to work.

Click on my signature for the autoskimmer site, or go to my website at scienceofsoulmates.com/Freedom_Money for more info.

...without you having to be present at all times. This also allows one to save time for other things.
Outsourcing is one way of having this passive income once you have already found your virtual team that could help you manage the business and automate your business needs. And, really it takes time to find the right people at the right places and good thing I've hired good pool of Filipino people who've been loyal to me until now where Tyrone has greatly become one of these best mentors to have.

I've read one good post (video) from Tyrone Shum during his "passive income" experience and here's for everyone to see as well:

    Hard work

The responses on this forum make me a little sad. Making Passive Income is very time consuming (at the start) but can be very lucrative. It is not being lazy, it is about effective leveraging of one's time. I personally find blogging to be an amazing tool for passive income because once you build a following (which is not hard if you are selective and intentional about the blog you create) then internal links to affiliates can bring in large sums of money. Not to mention other income from things like adsense, etc. All can be very effective if you create an effective and maximized blog.

I think the main point of his post was the fact that creating a "passive income" is not easy, and in no way makes a person lazy for wanting to create passive income for ones self. You must work hard to get to a point where you can develop passive income. And in the situation of running a blog or site; it may not necessarily be hard, in fact it's a very simple concept, but is very very time consuming to get to a point where you can makes hundreds to thousands of dollars in passive income.

Investing in gold some years ago before it hit 1200 an ounce, would have been a nice passive income.
