Overstock vs Ebay

Hey do you think its wise to start on overstock auctions now, since ebay increased its prices?

IMO i think you get better hits per item at overstock as compared to ebay where there are thousands of similiar products. Will the rise of some of ebay's fees affect overstock's share prices?

These could be a new idea for many...

Ebay is still king of online auctions. Maybe some will find success in Overstock's auction market, but I can't say I'd turn my back on going to Ebay first for product searches.

If you are smart you can run auctions on Ebay, Yahoo and Overstock, you can cover a bigger market share with your products. Ebay originally doubled what they charge to run actions but when they released that thier stock took a huge drop and every seller was very upset. So they announced a few days ago that they would be raising thier selling fees 1/4 of what they are now.

Try all three and see which one suits you the bet. Get three products, sell them at the same time, and then you can find out.

Or......

Find a product that each has and see the final bid price.

Ebay is the best online auction site from a buyer point of view. Ebay has more sellers selling an item which can lead to cheaper items. I like buying on Ebay!

I'll stick behind what i first said, if you sell on all three you can cover a bigger market share. Its like when one company has 6 different websites selling thier same products, when they do this they cover a bigger market share. In the business that I am in Volume is profit and espically if you have a product that dosent have a huge mark up, volume becomes VERY important. More places to sell = more volume (use a lister assiant so that you can list your auctions faster, and if your selling the same item just save the templetes)

What if i say listing at more places = more listing fees. Say if you sell 3000 different DVDs, listing on ebay + yahoo + overstock = 3 times the listing fees.

Yeah I agree. I think 3 is too many, and only two would be best. With only 2, You would get higher ratings, which would lead to more sales. Like cheng said, the listing fees woudl also become a major factor.
